Rachel - 11 days old
Rachel has been doing great. She visited the pediatrician on Wednesday and got a good report. She is about back to her birth weight and is gaining 1-2 ounces every day.
Packing on the ounces is hard work, so she still sleeps most of the time. Her favorite sleeping pose is arms up, crossed legs. This is actually how she looked in her very first (ultrasound) pictures.
Rachel goes outside a few minutes a day so she can make some vitamin D.
Grandma Kathy came to see Rachel and we had a great visit. Also there has been a cold front so we were able to enjoy some time more outside in the 75 degree weather.

Rachel - One Day Old
Rachel is still adjusting to life on the outside - for most of the time this means getting a lot of sleep. She has a comfortable hat knitted by her aunt Angela.

Rachel and Mommy, who is recovering well

Lots of people came to see Rachel... she slept through most of the visits though.
Rachel slept in Grand Dave's arms:

Then she slept in Mimi's arms:

Then she slept in her grandmother's arms:

Then Steve and Kim came for a visit:

In the afternoon Rachel woke up for a little while to meet her Oma

And her Opa

Rachel awake and looking at the camera

About time for another nap

Update from the Hospital
At Annette's weekly appointment, the Dr. decided it was time for the baby to come. We checked in to the hospital at 7:30PM last night and the Dr. started the induction process.
Everything is going OK so far. Annette felt a bit of pain from the contractions, but after getting an epidural she is getting a some rest.
Look for more updates soon!
