Rachel can read

OK, she really can't read just yet, but she did get her summer reading program certificate from the Houston library this week. As you can see, she is very excited about having books read to her.


In other news, Rachel's Grandma (Wes' mom) visited us on Friday night on her way through town. It was good to see her and her friend Lynn.

It has been extremely hot in Houston this week - hitting records over 100 degrees - so we have spent a lot of time inside. We have also made several visits to the snoball stand to stay cool.

Happy Father's Day

Wes enjoyed his first Father's Day this weekend. On Saturday, we went to the tennis courts and Steve and Wes played for awhile while Rachel and I watched.








On Sunday, we took a trip to Inez to celebrate with Wes' sister Dawn for her 40th birthday. Rachel got to see GranDave and Mimi again and meet Uncle Travis, Aunt Dawn and her cousins. It was a fun time and Rachel behaved well (most of the time at least).

Fisher Family Reunion

Rachel had her first road trip this past weekend out to Utopia for the 60th annual Fisher family reunion. We drove out on Saturday and back on Sunday. Rachel slept most of the 5 hour trip in the car, only waking up to eat. She had a great time meeting her great-grandmother and her great-aunts and cousins for the first time, in addition to all of the extended family at the reunion. She was very well behaved at the reunion, sleeping through most of the talent show on Saturday night and the service on Sunday morning.

5 weeks old!

I can't believe Rachel is already 5 weeks old! You may be wondering how she likes to spend her time. Here are some scenes from home these days.

Big Girl!

We had a good visit to the doctor this morning. Rachel officially weighs 10lbs 5.75oz! She is getting big very quickly. Everything else looked good.

One Month Old

As of Saturday, Rachel is one month old. To celebrate, we had some friends over for dinner and took some pictures with her favorite elephant. On Sunday, we went to the park with Wes while he played tennis with Steve. Rachel is doing well and growing quickly - she has her one month appointment with the doctor tomorrow morning.
