Zoo Boo

We finally got some cooler weather so Rachel and I went back to the zoo again.  They had the Zoo Boo on Fridays this October so Rachel went in costume.  Unfortunately, her official costume was not finished yet so she had to wear a backup.  She enjoyed being a Texas A&M cheerleader for the day.

You know it is close to Halloween when you see giant candy corn

I tried to get Rachel to sit and smile sweetly next to a pumpkin for a sweet picture.  I was unsuccessful.  Instead, I just tried to make sure she did not smash any of the pumpkins.

Running over to the next pumpkin

Another try for a picture...fortunately the pumpkin landed nicely from this fall and was not destroyed.

Rachel had a lot of fun running around the children's zoo - here she is in the prairie dog tunnel

Oma & Opa Visit

For several weekends in September and October, Wes spent 3 days in a review class for his professional engineering exam.  This left Rachel and me on our own.  So, the second weekend in October Oma and Opa came in town to keep us company.  We always have a fun time when they visit!

We enjoyed our traditional breakfast at Ikea on Saturday morning

Rachel and Oma did some yard work

Oma is a lot of fun at the park

It is hard to get Rachel and Opa to look at the camera at the same time, but we managed it

Opa helped Rachel practice her coloring

Galveston Beach

The first weekend in October, GranDave, Mimi and the Ray family spent a couple of days in Galveston.  We went down to visit with them and have some fun at the beach.  Rachel loves the beach and playing with her cousins.

Rachel was not quite ready for football but everyone else had fun

UtopiaFest II

On the last weekend in September, we had a great time in Utopia at UtopiaFest.  We saw lots of great bands and Rachel had a good time.
