Visit to Utopia

A few weeks ago, we headed westward and spent the weekend in Utopia.
There was a lot of rain before we got there and good weather while we were there.  We relaxed while we were there - drove around and saw some wildflowers and played a bit in the river.  It was not quite warm enough to take Rachel swimming on this visit.

Rachel got to use Wes' old high chair for her meals.

We had fun visiting with Granny

We also had a nice dinner out with Grandma Kathy and Butch

The Other Football

I am working on catching up on my blog postings. A few weeks ago, Wes, Rachel and I all went to our first Houston Dynamo game. We had a great time with our friends, even though the Dynamo did not win the game. We will be going back again, hopefully soon.

Rachel was loving all the free stuff she got before the game - a balloon, a t-shirt and even a poster of the team.
The weather was nice for the game and we had a great view of downtown from the stadium.

Rachel loves spending time with Don and Karen

Eleven Months

Although I realize that Rachel is now actually closer to 12 months old. here is her official 11 month picture.  Also, we took advantage of the nice weather a couple of weeks ago and got a few pictures in the bluebonnets.  I am pretty sure it is state law in Texas to take pictures with the state flower so it is a good thing we were able to get it done.

Easter 2010

We had a great time visiting the Ferguson family for Easter.  Other than the Crescent City Classic, we had a good time relaxing with family, taking some family pictures and enjoying a wonderful Easter lunch at Richard and Dana's house.

Saying Hello to Dana and Richard on Saturday evening

Angela helped Rachel discover the fun things in her Easter basket

Impressed with Oma's azaleas

Rachel was not sure what to think of the bunny ears, but we all thought they were cute

We had great weather for lunch!

Crescent City Classic

In what is becoming a Ferguson family tradition, we went to Louisiana on Easter weekend and participated in the Crescent City Classic.  The Classic is a 10K race that goes from the French Quarter to City Park.  Wes ran it in a good time - about 52 minutes.  Angela, Rachel and I, on the other hand, ran parts and also enjoyed the charm of the city and the entertainment of the crowd as we walked along with the 22,000 or so participants.

There were plenty of water stations along the route...as well as a kind person giving out powdered donuts.  Too bad the decline in the economy seems to have knocked out the hot dog handouts that we enjoyed last time.

Oma even joined us for much needed transportation assistance and to cheer for us at the finish line.  Next time she will be walking with us and maybe we can even convince the rest of the family to get up early and join the fun.
