Thanksgiving

We enjoyed a nice Thanksgiving with Wes' family.

First, we stayed at Wes' mom's house and had Thanksgiving dinner with the whole clan at Granny's.

Owen and Rachel love playing with all of their relatives.

Big group picture!

Our little family

Rachel LOVED driving Jonathan's car around the ranch.  Owen enjoyed his time as a passenger.

They also enjoyed playing in the yard with Kathy.

Next, we headed for a Thanksgiving celebration at Wes' Dad's house.  There, the kids got to play with more fun cousins.

More things to drive, too.

Because almost everyone was able to make it, there were enough people for a game of football.

Owen preferred to play with other things.  He is not quite ready for football.

He does love to slide, though.

Uncle Travis is fun!

Thanksgiving 2011

We had a lot of fun on our trip to Mandeville over Thanksgiving.  We had a slightly smaller gathering this year because Angela could not make it for the visit and Opa was still recovering in the hospital.

The weather was nice so Rachel got to go on several bike rides.

Rachel had lots of fun helping Oma in the kitchen.  Here, they are making play dough.

The result of the play dough making...green bunnies!

The next morning, Rachel helped Oma make waffles.  Yummy!

Rachel and Oma picked fresh herbs from the garden for our Thanksgiving dinner.

Another fun bike ride.

Mia and Owen really enjoyed celebrating their first Thanksgiving together.

They got to know each other a little better.

Owen was happy to sit and watch while Mia was crawling around the room.

Visiting Opa at the hospital was a good time for a nap.  People thought they might be twins.

Opa was happy to see most of his kids and all of his grandkids for Thanksgiving.  We included Angela by Skype.

Rachel had lots of fun playing in the yard at Oma and Opa's house.

Tasty pineapple.

Owen had lots of fun visiting with Oma, too.

Owen is getting better at holding his own bottle.

Sometimes Rachel likes to be a sweet big sister and feed Owen.

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful time visiting Wes' family in Utopia and Dripping Springs for Thanksgiving.

We had fun seeing all of the cousins, aunts and grandparents
Rachel played with Uncle Travis
And showed off how good she is at putting on a necklace
Rachel can even drive a truck!
Rachel had fun with cousin Whitney

and with cousin Conner

She probably had the most fun with cousin Jonathan.  She thinks he is great.
We all enjoyed the barn party, even though it was very cold
The food was delicious

Rachel and Grammy were bundled up

Rachel liked spending time on the ranch.  She got to feed the fish.

Rachel did not get to play football with everyone at GranDave's house - maybe next year.

She did get to play some with her newest cousin Emily

We visited with Aunt Dawn and her family

And we got to see Aunt Mandy.  We haven't seen her in a long time!

Rachel did not get to do the zip line either, but she did get to watch Wes

It was good to see everyone (and enjoy some yummy food)

Thanksgiving

Rachel had a wonderful first Thanksgiving at the Fergusons' in Mandeville!  We had a relaxing time with family.  We also got to celebrate Richard's wedding, which was a lot of fun (although it made the holiday a bit busier than usual).

Rachel also got her first Christmas present from her Tante Angela because Angela will be spending Christmas in Birmingham this year.  It did not take Rachel long to catch on to the fact that she should grab at the things wrapped in pretty bags and paper (or maybe she just wanted the bags and paper).  She enjoyed her own gift and helped Oma open hers.

She spent lots of time with her Opa - she always thinks he is funny and gives him the biggest smiles all the time.

She also spent a lot of quality time with her Oma.  Rachel even took a few small steps (backward) with the help of her Oma.

We will have more pictures of Richard and Dana's wedding to come...here they are opening some gifts from Grandpa Steve and Sylvia.

Rachel topped off Thanksgiving day with her first piano lesson from Angela.
