A Very Springy Weekend

We have had a very nice weekend enjoying the beautiful spring-like weather in Houston.

On Saturday, we started early and went up to the Woodlands to do some shopping.  Since we were up north, we stuck around and visited the Souther Star Brewery for a tour.  Although only one of us could actually drink the beer, we still all had a good time.

After that, we stopped at the nursery on the way home and picked out some vegetables and flowers for our garden.  Rachel loved pulling the wagon.

Today, we planted our new plants and worked in the garden.  Rachel really enjoys helping in the garden.

January 2011

We did a lot of fun things in January.

We went to the zoo and enjoyed spending more time in the new African Forest - including the new restaurant there for lunch.  It was a perfect day for lunch outside.

Rachel loves to see the giraffes.

She also likes to ride on her Dada's shoulders through the primate exhibit.

We got to spend some more time at the TotSpot at the Children's Museum.  That is always a fun time.

We even got to enjoy some of the exhibits outside of the TotSpot.  Rachel could not quite build the arch, but she did enjoy working with the big blocks.

Rachel just keeps growing - soon she will fit in her Mama's shoes.

Rachel enjoys playing with her toys.

She really enjoys doing puzzles.

On Arbor Day, we visited the Arboretum and learned about trees.

Wes' Birthday and Another Christmas for Rachel

At the end of January, we went to Utopia to celebrate Wes' birthday and Grandma Kathy's birthday because they are on the same weekend.  We had a great time visiting.  We did not manage to take very many pictures while we were there.  Rachel had a lot of fun playing at Granny's house and exploring on the ranch.  She particularly enjoyed feeding the fish.

Because we were not in town for Christmas, Rachel got to open lots of fun presents while we were at Granny's house.  She really likes all of them!

Before heading back to Houston, we also got to go to Dripping Springs to visit GranDave and Mimi.  Rachel got even more fun presents there.  She is a lucky girl to have such a generous family.
