Children's Museum

On Friday, we went to the Children's Museum after picking Rachel up from school.  We had a great time.  Henry was a trooper and took a really long nap.  He was either asleep or happily being carried for our whole 3 hour visit.

Owen and Rachel loved playing with the water outside.

Boat!

We got to see some baby chicks.

They also did well painting some pictures.

Rachel loved all of the pretend play in Kidtropolis.  Here she is showing Owen her EMT skills.

They worked on a package delivery service as well.

Henry just rested.

Scanning the packages to be delivered.

They built some molecules.

They even put on a puppet show for me.

One of the highlights of our visits to the museum is face painting.  They both wanted to do it themselves.

Rachel was so excited!

Owen had fun in the new temporary exhibit where he got to roll golf balls on a variety of ramps and things.

Rachel made a friend and played in the house for a long time.

Finally, we convinced her that the ball exhibit was fun too so they played there until it was time to go home.

Owen's Birthday Celebration

Owen is 2!!

GranDave, Mimi, Uncle Travis and Taylor came to town to visit and join the celebration.  We had a lot of fun while they were here.  Everyone enjoyed wearing their dinosaur party hats.

Owen got a fun horse to bounce on.  Rachel named him "Charger Love".

We also got to have lots of fun outside with bubbles.

Here is Owen's dino cake.

Yummy!

More bubbles.

Rachel wanted to help opening the presents.  We had to hold her back so Owen had a chance to do it.

We enjoyed playing with all the fun new toys

Thank you GranDave, Mimi, Travis and Taylor for coming to visit!  We had a fun time.

Even More May Fun

It is getting close to summer so we tried the pool at the YMCA after Oma and Opa had to head back to Mandeville.

Owen was excited to go...he was less excited when he found out how cold the water was because the weather has been so nice and cool.  I guess we will try again now that it is warmer.

Henry isn't big enough for swimming, but that did not stop me from dressing him in cute swim clothes.  His hat looks a bit like a bonnet in this picture, but he has such a sweet smile I am posting it anyway.

In other events, Henry still really likes to nap and spend time in his bouncy seats (one for upstairs and one for downstairs).

The Thinker

Owen trying to recapture his youth by getting into the baby seat. He thought it was fun.  He loves to bring me the seat whenever I am holding Henry.  He points to the seat and says "Baby" or "'enri" to let me know what I need to do with the seat.  He is a great big brother.

He also knows that Henry needs to open his mouth for his paci.  He shows him how to do it and then helps put it in his mouth.  Sometimes he is even successful.

Henry was not so sure seeing the paci coming at him.

Helping me cook in the kitchen.

Rachel's first school year is almost over so her class had a splash party.  She had a lot of fun.  Here she is at the top of the slide for her first trip down.

Enjoying all the snacks.

Climbing up for possibly the 50th time.

Splash!!

Fun times splashing in our yard as well.

Oma and Opa Visit

The weekend after Rachel's birthday, Oma and Opa were able to make it over for a short visit.  We had a great time!

Henry loves being with his Oma.

His official 2 month picture

Rachel's official 4-year-old picture with her pink elephant.

Opa is a pro at bouncing babies in the chair.  He took great care of Henry during their visit.

Rachel had fun playing with Oma in the sandbox.

We all went to the "school park" to have a picnic dinner and play (Rachel's favorite kind of outing).

Oma kept Henry happy.

Wes played hide and seek with the kids.  Rachel found a great hiding place under the slide...too bad it turned out to be filled with ants. The bites looked bad the next day but didn't seem to bother her at all so that is good.

Owen throwing the ball up in the air - it came down on his head and he thought it was hilarious.

Hiding from Daddy

Oma  rescuing Opa when Henry started to fuss

Opa has it under control when Henry is happily in his bouncy seat.

Here he has successfully rocked Henry to sleep and is reading Owen a book.  Way to go, Opa!

Color time on the new storage furniture we found on clearance at Ikea.

More outside time.  We were blessed to have such nice weather this far into May.

Lots of Os for Owen

Happy boy when he woke up.
