Out and About

Last weekend, we enjoyed the beautiful weather at our first Miller Outdoor show of the season. Rachel enjoyed listening to Beatles songs played by the Fab 5. Don and Karen came out for the second half, but we did not manage to get a picture of them.

This weekend, we enjoyed the extra daylight hours by biking over to Onion Creek for some dinner on Friday night.

Bike Trail Fun

Today was a beautiful day for a bike ride!  I got a new bike yesterday and we got a bike seat for Rachel to ride on Wes' bike, so we headed off this morning.  Rachel enjoyed riding in her new seat, although she did not really like having the helmet strapped on.

She was not sure what was happening when we first got started, but not long into it she was having a great time.

We all enjoyed our brunch at Dry Creek.

After eating, we were off again.  The bike trail took us all the way to U of H downtown.  It was fun riding through the different neighborhoods in the area.

Back in the Heights, we stopped at a park so Rachel could have some lunch.

Not long after eating, Rachel decided it was time for a nap.  She fought it off for a while because she was having so much fun, but eventually she gave in.  We took her home and put her in her bed soon after this last picture was taken.

Ten Months

Rachel is getting older every day! We celebrated her 10 month birthday with a trip to the Houston rodeo.  Rachel got to see lots of animals and to visit a petting zoo for the first time.  She did not think the animals were quite as exciting as her kitty Maya, but she did seem to enjoy it.

She was particularly fascinated with one of the non-traditional animals that we met at the livestock show...

We had a great time enjoying the beautiful weather and then watching the rodeo and concert with our friends.

Rachel also got her first taste of meat this weekend.  She was not quite sure about it at first, but then she ate it all up.  She was nice enough to show everyone what she was eating for the picture.

She is a very happy baby these days and we are enjoying all of her new experiences and developments.

She learns something new almost everyday...

What Happened to February?

So, I have been behind on posting. Things have been going well here. Here are a few highlights of our month.

We have spent time at the zoo

Rachel is doing well feeding herself, although she struggles a bit with Cheerios out of a cup

Rachel loves to swing

She is also working up to being a talented musician

We got to see some of the Martins when Dawn, Duane and Jessica came to town for a volleyball tournament

For our final highlight for the month, Oma and Opa came for a visit while Oma had time off from school for Mardi Gras
