We started the morning in the beach area, which had a swimming area, a splash area, waterslides and sand to play in. If it were not so hot, we would have spent a lot more time there. Rachel loved all of it.
Happy girl in the swimming pool
It was hard to get good pictures in the splash area because she was in constant motion.
First time on the waterslide - so fun!
After swimming for a couple of hours, we dried off and went to the Aquarium. We saw lots of fish, fur seals and penguins.
On the grounds, we saw a small butterfly exhibit (the regular one is being renovated), checked out an exhibit on immigration through Galveston, and then went to the movies.
Rachel's first try at a movie was an Imax movie about Africa. She lasted about half of the show and then had to be removed because we were afraid her "talking" might disturb others.
Her second movie was a 4D version of Happy Feet that was only about 15 minutes long. She made it all the way through to the end, even though she chose not to wear her 3D glasses.
We finished our day with some time on the playground before the drive home.
