Trip to Mandeville

We had a good trip to Mandeville last weekend.  Opa had surgery on Wednesday so we went to visit him in the hospital on Friday.  Thankfully, he came home Friday evening and is doing well.

Rachel had her eye on Opa's balloon from the minute we walked in

Owen was happy to relax with Opa in bed

Rachel tested out the facilities and confirmed that the closet bar was up to code

After the hospital, we went to visit Oma at her school.  Owen was excited to meet all the teachers and kids.

Rachel got to pretend that she was a student at Oma's school for a little while.  It is too bad we do not live closer or she could go everyday!

After Opa came home, Rachel decided he no longer needed his "Get Well Soon" balloon.  She clipped it on her shirt and found some stylish glasses.

At bedtime, Rachel enjoyed reading books with Oma.

We brought our bikes with us so we got to go on fun bike rides with Tante YaYa.  YaYa was riding the bike she got when she was 12 so it is truly vintage - German engineering seems to hold up well over time.

Rachel still loves her bike seat and got to use the new sunglasses that she found at the house.

It was hot so of course we had to stop on the bike ride to get snoballs.  Tante YaYa shared hers with Rachel.

Rachel took a turn feeding some to YaYa.

Ready to head back home after our break.

Owen was happy to see that the Saints won their preseason game while we were there.

But he did not forget where his other loyalties lie.

On Sunday, Aunt Dana and Uncle Richard brought Mia over to meet Owen.  They are only three and a half months apart and get along very well so far.

Rachel is still a big fan of her newest cousin as well.

Oma had her hands full with her two newest grandbabies.  I am sure she would not have it any other way :)
