We went east for the long Memorial Day weekend. We all had a great time visiting Oma and Opa in Mandeville. Even Tante YaYa was there to enjoy the fun. We missed seeing Uncle Richard, Aunt Dana and sweet Mia but we look forward to seeing them soon.

Oma and Opa had some fun birthday presents ready for the kids.

Both of them enjoyed having Oma help open them.

As has become our custom, we took a bike ride to the splash pad at the Trailhead and enjoyed snoballs before heading home.

Owen had his first taste of snoball and declared it yummy.

Owen has been doing lots of practicing at standing up and walking with help.

He also loves to play with his new toys.

Tante YaYa is so funny when she makes car sounds.

Having been one for almost a week, Owen decided it was about time he started eating more substantial foods. He really enjoyed his first taste of Oma's lasagna.

We got to celebrate YaYa's birthday while we were there! Rachel enjoyed having cake and ice cream - but not in the same bowl (she was very firm on this point).

Hulahoops!

Rachel talked YaYa into running through the sprinklers in the backyard.

Owen had such sweet smiles for his Oma.

We also enjoyed a tea party on the back patio.

Yum!

Owen like playing in the grass.

Happy boy with YaYa and more food to eat.

Our little family on the lake front while on another bike ride.

Daddy and Owen

Rachel is very convincing. She talked YaYa into going into the splash pad with her - YaYa does not take much arm twisting.

Of course, snoballs were had by all.
We had a very southern lunch of chicken (baked, not fried), potato salad and watermelon. Delicious!
Owen loved his chicken and strawberries.
He also loved hanging out with his Opa.
